Autumn!

My favourite time of year! I love when the leaves change, mulled wine can become the drink of choice, hats are mandatory and festivities are pretty much continuous from now until the new year. Our family went for a little walk and enjoyed this really mild autumn we've been having. Elin is changing as quickly as the leaves and I feel so lucky to have her with us every day. She challenges me beyond anything I have ever known but she brings more happiness than I knew too.

Heres some photos from our walk! I can't wait to do this as she gets older, watching her and her daddy climb trees, stand on logs and jump in the leaves. There's so much potential for her and I can't wait her to experience the joys the world has to offer.

We had a lovely day and these pictures are pretty special to me. (aren't they all though!) Good job I have a daughter who loves the camera eh! Winter also means I get to buy wayyyy to many hats for this little lady which is pretty exciting for me if I'm honest.

I'd love to see your autumn photos and how about any autumn traditions? I'd love to hear them all!

Santorini, Part 2

Carrying on from my first Santorini post lets kick things off with this shot. If there was anything that could show the genuine love these two have for each other it is this! Seeing them together fills me with all sorts of gooey emotions and I sort of burst with pride. It was also nice beyond words to have a second pair of hands ALL WEEK LONG. But extra special for James to get unlimetted uninterupted time with his daughter, the first time since she was born really.

Is there anything cuter then a baby in a swimming costume? Didn't think so! Especially those thigh rolls. Boy do I love her. But I guess there is more to this island than the little girl I bought onto it! So lets show more of that. I suppose those thigh rolls can wait.

We drove the length of the island all while Elin napped in the carseat! We kept saying we'd stop at the next village, and then the next one as she stayed asleep a lot longer than expected. This selfie was taken at the highest point overlooking the entire place! It was lovely to spend some adult time together and this one picture reminds me of holidays we took before baby. I wouldn't change our honeymoon plus 1 at all but it was still nice to not have to worry for a few hours.

When Elin finally woke we were in Oia again so explored a little further. The shops are so quaint and lovely and the streets  have such a familiar feeling. The views don't really even need a description! We visited churches, the town hall, the castle and a hundred other nooks and cranny's all full of traditional greek charm.

James cooks a romantic dinner for 2. But clearly little miss didn't wanna miss out! Its past your bed time young lady!

Here's Elin in Fira. Again an amazing place to explore with some exceptional restaurants. While we were here we got those fish pedicures and James sampled the authentic greek ales. We also stumbled across the best dessert shop there ever was at the cheapest prices! We picked up desert pratically every night and finished it off for every breakfast. It was seriosuly amazing. (No pics as we demolished it all so quickly!)

Whilst in Fira we booked a resturaunt for our last meal of the holiday. Oh. My. Goodness. it did not disappoint! It was the best thing we had ever eaten. We got so lucky and enjoyed guenuine culinery delights. I've never even wanted to use that phrase before but it was so apt for this meal I tell ya. Again, here we are in a bloody posh resturaunt and Elin? She could not have been made more welcome! Even more impressive considering we let her feed herself so you can imagine the mess. It was a wonderful last evening.

That pretty much wraps up our honeymoon adventure and looking through all of these as winter settles all around us makes me wanna go back in about a weeks time. If you don't care much for beaches then this island simply can not disappoint. I count myself very very lucky to have been able to visit it with my family and have the most wonderful time. Hopefully its not a once in a life time thing so heres to planning the next adventure there!

Love, Us.

Santorini, Part 1

We took our honeymoon to the most beautiful island of Santorini. It was the most amazing week imaginable! Combine good food, breathtaking views, beautiful weather and the friendliest locals you would ever meet and throw in a baby who, wait for it, slept (for the last time apparently!) and we had ourselves the best time. It was the perfect break after a manic few weeks. As this week i'm devoting to recapping an entire season in our lives I'm whacking up our honeymoon shots in two pretty long posts (we did take WAYY to many). This a pretty picture happy post but filtering my photos definately isn't my strong point! I hope you enjoy looking!

Santorini, September 2015. Honeymoon and first family holiday,in pictures!

Here we are in Oia on our first night. Its pretty much the city you see on so many greek postcards. We drove here purely to get a tiny taste of the island and would spend more time exploring later on the trip. On our first night we couldn't believe just how familiar the place felt. And I couldn't believe how amazing Santorini was for fashion either! On a side note- I just love this face that Elin pulls when shes taking in new surroundings. Its the face she had the whole time in Paris and here too! I find it so adorable, as if she really can not believe her little eyes.

I'm so glad that we choose to stay in a  Villa rather than a hotel. From my very limited experience travelling with our little one I'd definitely recommend it. The privacy meant that we could pop Elin down for a nap or to bed and still enjoy being outside, taking advantage of the hammock and pool. Had we been in a hotel we would have been restricted to the room. As it was so hot there we also stayed close to 'home' during the warmest part of the day so little miss could cool of in the air conditioned windmill or the pool.

Here we took little Elin on a boat trip around the island. We got to swim in the mud baths and hot springs, go diving and see loads of fish which I LOVED and saw a unique view of the volcano. Elin was so welcomed it was wonderful. It also made me realise just how lucky we are. A 4 hour cruise with a baby with no way to dry land could be awful but our little pickle was a super star! We also started baby led weaning on this trip and she still adores tomatoes. She'll turn into one one day, I'm sure.

If you go to Santorini, GO TO A WINERY. It was brilliant. The wines were delicious and have given me a new found love of red. And the views of the Caldera and Volcano here are second to none. They say the sunset in Santorini is the best in the world and I can completely see why. Pictures just can not do it justice, but take my word for it- with my husband and baby, drinking good wine, listening to a greek woman singing and watching the sun go down, you can not get any better than that. Plus I took full advantage of the occasion and dressed us co-ordinated. As you do.

These really are some of my all time favourite photos we have of us. I'm feeling very grateful I packed white for us all ;) Pop back and see Santorini Part 2! It's a good thing Elin is keeping me on my toes otherwise these posts really would be going on for days.

Have you ever been to Santorini? We already are desperate to go back with friends one day!
